Going against Intel’s eighth generation Core line-up, AMD claims to provide world’s fastest running processors for ultrathin notebooks. It seems to fulfil its promise of producing Accelerated Processing Units (APU) with integrated graphics by the end of this year. AMD Ryzen Mobile Processors are said to be launched with “Zen” CPU cores and “Vega” Graphics Architecture.

AMD is announcing two initial chips -Ryzen 5 2500U and the Ryzen 7 2700U. Here’s what you need to know.

Features:

Both the processors are four cores with capable of featuring 8 threads with SMT. But the Processor clock of Ryzen 5 2500U is 2GHz and GPU clock of 1.1 GHz while Ryzen  7 2700U has 200MHz of processor and 1.3 GHz  GPU Clock.

The former features 8 Radeon Vega Graphic CUs and latter features 10 Radeon Vega CUs. They both are 100W processors.

Ryzen 5 2500U requires a Quad-Core CPU with SMT 2.2 GHz Base and 3.8 GHz Turbo while Ryzen 7 2700U requires same specifications but 2.0 GHz base. Ryzen 5 2500U and Ryzen 7 2700U have an L2 Cache of 512 KB/Core and L3 Cache of 1 MB/Core. They both have 4.95 billion transistors. The design has 11 Vega compute units on board. The maximum frequencies of the two processor parts will be 1300 MHz and 1100MHz and the ability to shift between CPU and GPU for better performance.

Memory is provided up to dual-channel DDR4-2400 and uses Infinity Fabric interconnected between CPU and GPU segments and offers higher bandwidth.AMD considered some of the other features before launching the processors to meet all the needs of users

Know more about Ryzen Mobile :

Ryzen Mobile has more features to discuss about as mentioned below:

Ryzen Mobile offers up to 200% more CPU performance and up to 128% more GPU Performance consuming 58% less power.

Combining CPU performance and power advantage, AMD provides 270% performance per watt improvement i.e. power output improvement for the new processors.

System Performance: It provides “Desktop class performance” over the package for people who are not into gaming.

Gaming Performance: The processors provide a good way to drive e-Sports at high frame without any particular graphics card along with extremely high performance and better image quality. It also allows control  connections along with the data between the CPU Cores,GPU and RAM controllers and other on board logic and enables AMD’s Sense MI feature, using many of sensors to monitor CPU speed, power consumption, voltage, and temperature in real-time.

Overall the processors as designed shall provide the best performance, AMD has done possibly all the necessary bests it could .

The processors can be used by following laptops: Lenovo IdeaPad 720S, Acer Swift 3 and HP Envy x360 due to its advanced features.

Launch and Availability: The processors will be available in market in the coming weeks and near end of October.
